Orly Mulholland | Fall 2016 Collection

Hello everyone! I have an exciting post today to share with you all about the Orly Mulholland collection, which is the Fall release. I was contacted by the company to see if I wanted to review an upcoming collection and I was so happy to be a part of the release! Let's get started!

There are 6 polishes in the collection- 2 cremes, 3 shimmer\flakies, and 1 glitter.

First up is 'mansion lane', a mauve brown/gray creme shade. The formula was on the thinner side but it applies evenly and I didn't have too many problems with it flooding the sides of my nails or cuticles. It was opaque in two coats and dried to a glossy finish. Shown in the photos is 2 coats without topcoat.

Next up is 'hillside hideout'! I would describe this polish as a berry purple pink shade with a lovely gold shimmer running through it. It had a thinner formula but was opaque in two coats just like the previous polish. Shown is 2 coats with topcoat.

Here is 'chuenga pass', a red orange creme with a bit of a jelly formula. The formula covers very evenly on all coats. It covers in two although I could still see my nail line so the photos show three without any topcoat. As you can see, it dried glossy.

'million dollar view' is next up on the list! This polish is a bronze metallic with tiny flakies throughout. They aren't as apparent on the nail but you can see them if you look for them. The formula applied evenly and all brush strokes that presented when applied, melted away when drying. Shown is two coats without topcoat.

This polish reminded me a bit of Orly 'rage' so I decided to do a quick comparison... This is two coats of each with no topcoat.

You can definitely tell the difference in color in the photo more so than in person. 'Rage' is more sparkly and sort of like a foil. It had more brush strokes when applying than 'million dollar view' but most disappeared. MDV has those flakies in it and appears darker. I would say that they are different enough to justify owning both.

This is 'meet me at mulholland'! I would describe this as a brown based polish with copper metallic flakies and a purple shimmer. This combination reminds me of the leaves in the fall! It was fairly sheer on the first coat but built up nicely in three. For some reason, with normal application, I couldn't get the tip of my nail to cover properly. Thinking back, maybe it would have been beneficial to sponge on the last coat. Shown is three coats without topcoat.

The final polish in the collection is 'party in the hills', a gold and black full coverage microglitter. It could potentially be used as a glitter topper but it is pretty dense. The formula is great and it dries quickly but slightly textured due to the glitter. It covered in two coats but I did three for the photos with one coat of Seche Vite.

Overall, I love this collection! In my opinion, it is very cohesive and all of the polishes fit the theme of fall, especially with those flakies! I will most definitely be wearing many of these shades throughout the season! In comparison to all of the other Orly polishes that I own, it seems that the brushes are flatter, which I absolutely adore when comparing the round brushes.

If you are interested in purchasing these polishes, they are available on orlybeauty.com for $8.50 each. Follow Orly on their Instagram.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes | Summer 2016

Hello everyone! I have a post to share today about one of my all time favorite indie brands, Turtle Tootsie Polishes! The creator, Chrissy, has been making polish since the summer of 2015 and I've been there since the beginning! With that being said, this July 1st was her one year anniversary!!

Let me introduce you to the carnival collection. These are a combination of holographic and creamy polishes with holographic glitter. Let's get started!

First us is '1st Turtle-bration' in honor of TTP's first anniversary! This polish has a milky white crelly base with metallic micro red and blue, matte black micro, and blue hex micro glitters. It was opaque in 2-3 coats and the photos show one coat of topcoat.

Next up is 'Ferris Wheel', a silver holographic base with a mix of medium and small sized neon circle glitters in the colors green, pink, blue, orange, yellow, and purple. It had great glitter distribution with minimal fishing necessary to get the glitters out. I chose to wear it as three coats on its own but you could probably use it as topcoat!

This is 'Cotton Candy'! A soft bubble gum pink with an insanely smooth formula! It was a bit sheer on the first coat but builds up in 2. It had a quick dry time and dried glossy.

Next up is 'Tilt-A-Whirl', a bubble gum pink holographic. It was sheer on the first coat but built up in 2 coats. This polish along with all of the others in the collection had a quick dry time.

Here is 'Kettle Corn', a pale yellow polish with some extremely small glitter in it! It has a good formula for a yellow shade which I would expect nothing less from TTP! It was completely opaque in 3 and dried glossy.

This is 'Frozen Lemonade', the holo twin of 'Kettle Corn'! This polish is opaque in two coats and most of the brush strokes melted away when drying. This is such a unique holographic!

Next up is 'Taffy'! This is a lovely purple shade that was a bit sheer on the first coat but was opaque in two!

'Carousel Horse' is the next shade in the collection! This is a grape purple holographic that is opaque in 2 coats.

This is 'Motion Sickness', a unique green shade that is opaque in two flawless coats and dries glossy.

The name of the next polish is one of my favorites! It's called 'Deep Fried Pickles' and the name couldn't fit the polish more perfectly! haha! Its a green holographic that takes two coats to be opaque.

This is 'Blue Ribbon', a gorgeous royal blue with a flawless formula. Opaque in two coats and dries glossy.

Finally, I have 'Blueberry Snow Cone', a blue holographic opaque in 2 coats.

I also had the chance to try out two of the newly released scented topcoats! I tried funnel cake and watermelon. I highly recommend both of them!! The scent lasts for more than a day and the topcoat protects my mani for days when used with TTP sticky base coat.

This collection has already released and is available now at turtletootsiepolishes.com for $100 for the full sized collection or $60 for the minis. They are also on sale for $10 each.

Which ones will you be picking up??
